Gerald D. Trites, FCA, CISA, is Project Director of XBRL Canada on behalf of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). He is a chartered accountant and was elected a Fellow in 1988 for distinguished service to the profession. He also is a Certified Information Systems Auditor. Jerry has also done work for XBRL International (XII) and is currently serving on the XBRL International Assurance Committee. Currently, Jerry operates as an IT consultant and researcher. He has written numerous research studies and other documents on topics like e-Business, Accounting Information Systems, XBRL, Assurance for Small and Medium Business and, the most recent, Data Level Assurance. Jerry was a tenured full professor of St Francis Xavier University and has published twelve books, including five IT-related research studies and a textbook on e-business which is currently entering into its fourth edition. Before entering academe, Jerry was a partner with KPMG in Halifax, Nova Scotia. |
